Between November 2015 and March 2017 Borderline Sicilia has been the Italian partner in the transnational project “Controversies in Migration Policies: The Concession of Protection Versus Border Control (KideM), supported by the EU within the “Europe for Citizens” program of the EACEA (Education, Audiovisual & Culture Executive Agency).

The controversies in European migration politices regarding the issue of so-called “illegal entrance” displays a fundamental conflict within European values: the search for protection from persecution is meeting limits which render access for the various procedures for protection and asylum practically impossible.

Along with borderline-europe (Germany), Asyl in Not (Austria) and Dictio (Greece), Borderline Sicilia has engaged in a project of research and organised public events in which sthis conflict has been examined in relation to each country.
